A large content library that needed to stay current and local

Rippling is a global HR, IT, payroll and finance platform used by thousands of companies. They have a serious content operation, and a library big enough that keeping it current is a job in itself. I came on to work with their content team for ten hours a week, embedded in that operation rather than dropping in the occasional one-off piece.

The brief wasn't to start something new. It was to keep an established library working: accurate, useful, and relevant to the people actually reading it, including the ones reading it from this side of the world.

What I actually do for Rippling

The work sits across a few areas. I rewrite and update existing content, because a library that size accumulates articles that have aged out or no longer reflect how the product or the regulations work. I bring them back up to standard, so the content stays correct, not just published.

The biggest piece is localisation. My main remit is APAC, making sure Rippling's content actually works for readers in Australia and the wider region, and I support the UK and Canada markets too. A lot of Rippling's content is written for a US audience, and it doesn't translate cleanly across borders. Payroll rules, employment law, terminology and context all shift from country to country. So this isn't a find-and-replace on the spelling. It's reworking content so it's correct and genuinely useful for the person reading it in their own market.

I also write the long-form reports that sit behind their lead magnets, the kind of pieces that have to earn someone's details by being worth reading. And I work with the team on their content repurposing strategy: how content that's already been made gets reused across formats and channels so it keeps earning its place.

Embedded, trusted, and across the detail

The value in this kind of engagement isn't a single deliverable. It's being someone a serious content team can hand their library to and trust to keep it accurate, local, and moving, while also helping shape how the whole thing gets used.

It's the work I do best. In the engine room, across the detail, keeping content correct rather than just producing more of it. You can see the articles I've written for Rippling on my author profile on their blog.
